Through group company LBS Properties, Oakglen has a long track record of successful investing in the real estate sector, with a focus on value-add and opportunistic strategies in the residential and commercial office sectors. LBS Properties is a development and investment manager, formed in 2012, specialising in complex, large-scale development in the Central London market. LBS operates both as a principal investor, on behalf of Oakglen, and as an operating partner to a small group of private and institutional capital partners.

LBS works across the full development lifecycle including transaction sourcing, structuring and financing, planning, development, asset management and sales/leasing. LBS has been responsible for the delivery of over 1,300 private and affordable homes and 500,000 square feet of office space since 2012.


Our Approach to Investment

We utilise our deep knowledge of the London property market and extensive contact base to identify buildings and development sites with one or both of the following characteristics:

  • Opportunities that allow us to apply our asset management expertise to drive value. We apply clear, strategic thinking alongside forensic, hands-on management to increase the value of the assets we manage. This may include improving top-line performance through improving lease terms or adding space, improving NOI through improved efficiency, or applying our planning and development expertise to change the use of a property or redevelop it.
  • Opportunities that offer the potential for “above-average growth”. This may be because of changing supply-demand characteristics in a particular sector or submarket, increased investment in local infrastructure, or changing social or demographic trends.



Our approach to development places sustainability at the core of decision making. From conception to construction to operation, we follow a rigourous, hands-on approach to reduce carbon consumption. Working with some of the leading consultants and contractors in this area, we are currently delivering some of the most sustainable buildings in London. We believe this is our responsibility, but we also believe this will attract occupiers who share our vision for the future of the built environment, which will in turn deliver on Oakglen’s strategy to deliver long term, sustainable value appreciation.
